Today at around 10:00am in Nakoreto Parish, Maru Sub-County, Kotido District, Karamoja sub region a gang of five suspected Jie warriors, armed with two SMGs, raided Nakoreto trading center and gunned down Airtel Agent identified as Steven Lochu .
Lochu was traveling in the van together with a driver only identified as Ivan. Sources say Ivan had to run up to Kotido town on Foot leaving the car behind.
According to sources who preferred to remain anonymous, Lochu was targeted by suspected Jie Warriors for revealing armed warriors who have refused to surrender their guns.
‘Security forces from UPDF, 43BN and Victor BN have rapidly secured the area. Additionally, an operational squad from 405 Bde Hqs has been dispatched to conduct operations in the areas of Maru and Kacheri Sub-Counties’, A Source added.
